5mm Infrared LED – 940nm
Invisible infrared light at 940nm, the wavelength TV remotes use. Pair it with a VS1838B receiver to send remote-control codes, or with a photodiode for beam-break and obstacle sensors.
Specifications:
- 5mm, 2 legs (long leg = anode +)
- Wavelength: 940nm
- Forward voltage: about 1.3V; 20mA continuous (use a resistor)
Tip: you can't see IR with your eyes, but most phone cameras show it glowing.
